However, the poker room’s owners said that they just got a letter stating that their permit had been revoked due to “running a gambling place.”

The Poker Room Operated in Line with Current Laws

TCH’s owners are concerned that these activities will result in the layoff of more than 200 individuals. They want to appeal to the City Council’s decision in light of this. 

If the loss of jobs isn’t awful enough, poker fans will be left without a legal location to practice the game if poker rooms close. This could lead to a rise in the black market’s share of the state’s economy.

TCH was undoubtedly taken aback by the announcement of the permit revocation. This is due to the poker room’s adherence to Texas’ current gambling legislation. 

This means that, unlike casinos and gambling establishments, the poker room did not keep track of each hand’s profits. Instead, to comply with the legislation, the poker room charged players $13 per hour to sit at its tables and play.
